HANNAH JAYNE ART

Sip and Paint experiences in Yorkshire

Watercolor art supplies: brushes in jars, paint palette, and a pen on a white background

A Sip and Paint is exactly what it sounds like: a drink in one hand, a paintbrush in the other, and a couple of hours where the rest of the world can wait. I guide the whole room through one painting, step by step, and everyone goes home with their own version of it. No experience needed. Honestly, the less you think you can paint, the more fun this is.

What happens at the event

You arrive, grab a drink and find your easel, which is already set up and waiting. I break the painting down into easy stages and paint along with you, coming round to help whenever anyone wants it. There’s music, chatter and absolutely no judgement. Around two hours later you’re holding a finished canvas and wondering why you were nervous

I have zero artistic ability... by the end I was absolutely amazed that I created something I would probably hang on my wall. I have immediately booked on to the next two sessions.”

“Hannah talked us through everything step-by-step with really clear instructions, and ta-da, I walked away with a masterpiece!”

“What a fun, relaxing way to switch off and be creative. People who had never met before, having a laugh and actually producing a piece of art to be proud of.”

A couple of hours of calm

I first picked up a paintbrush to help manage my anxiety, and it worked better than I ever expected. That’s a big part of why I run these experiences. Painting makes you be present. People often tell me they leave feeling calmer and surprised at how therapeutic it was, whatever their painting turned out like.

 Malt in Sherburn-in-Elmet

My regular home is Malt in Sherburn-in-Elmet, an easy hop from Leeds, York, Selby and Wetherby, with an evening there every couple of months. New venues are in the works, and I am always looking to partner with beautiful venues, so keep an eye on the events page.

Tickets for Sip and Paint experiences at Malt are booked directly through Malt’s website.
